"Saalam aaya" is an mesmerising and awesome song from the movie "Veer".
Starcast : Salman Khan, Sohali Khan, Zarine Khan
The track runs for approx 4 mins and 53 seconds. Its a duet between Roop Kumar Rathood and our princess Shreya Ghoshal. It sounds like a romantic number. Salim- Wajid has directed the music of all the tracks in Veer.
The instruments used are :-
1. Santoor
2. Sitar
3. Clapping sticks
4.Synthesiser/keyboard
5.Tabla
There are a lot of traditional Indian instruments used.. :-)
The genre has a mixture of semi classical and folk.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This awesome song starts with the clapping sticks being played and later on being accompanied by a chord played on the sitar. Then supported by a flute playing in the background giving it a folky effect.
The male singer starts singing " daabi daabi sanson mein sunhate meine...".
At approx 0:27 we hear the drums and tablas at work. 0:47 we hear the honey soaked voice of Shreya singing " Jab bole vo jab bole".
At 1:00 Shreya repeats the same lines accompanied by an airy melody played by the violins. 01 :08 Shreya sings " pas pas hi rehna tum..."
Throught out the song we hear Shreya and Roop Kumar Rathood belting out semi- classical tunes to perfection.
My words are just not enough to decribe the mesmerising and fresh effect of the song. One has to hear to believe it. I am speechless..... ;-)
This beautifully composed and sang song ends with the soothing and genle voice of Shreya singing " Saalam aaya.. saalam aaya..."
Hatts off to Shreya and Roop Kumar Rathood. :-)
This will be also one of my favourites Shreya songs. Actually all of Shreya songs are my fav songs. :)
